Design Realisations for Textile Design
I am now back teaching the 3rd Year textile students at Leeds College of Art after maternity leave. The students haven’t got long until they finish and start setting up their final degree shows. One of the key aspects I teach in Illustrator is design realisation for their portfolio. Here is some examples of my own work that I use to demonstrate design outcomes.

10/04/2013Hi Julie, I am currently wanting to study textile design, I love your designs. Can I ask what computer programs you used to create your portfolio designs, I am interested in designing patterns for baby/kids clothing wear. I would also like to know where you get your inspiration from?
thank you

11/04/2013Hi Natalie
Thank you for your comments – always lovely when people like our designs! We use Adobe Illustrator mainly to create our designs and sometimes a little bit of Photocopy. Hope this helps!
Good luck with your textile career! I highly recommend the textile course at Leeds College of Art (I am a senior lecturer there) It is an excellent course!
Kind regards
Julie
